“I’m sorry that people are so jealous of me, but I can’t help it that I’m popular.”-Gretchen Wieners (of Mean Girls fame).
There’s that old cliché that you can’t have someone love you until you love yourself. While that might be cheesy, there’s truth to it—true love only comes from inside YOU. And we at Seven Circles are all about healthy love, inside and out.
It can be tough for people to recognize all the things they like about themselves. Sometimes it’s just easier for our partners, families, or friends to point out those things for us.
But a key component of Seven Circles is knowing your worth, what you value in yourself, and how those values overlap with those around you.
Try this:
· Get out some paper, pens, and a pair of scissors.
· Come up with at least 10 things you love about yourself (it might seem like a lot, but you got this!)
· Write out the 10 things on the paper, and then cut them out into individual strips.
· Fold up the strips and save them for yourself, anywhere you’d like. You could put one in your wallet, in your sock drawer, anywhere you might be glad to have a surprise reminder of how awesome you are!
· Save up the scraps as you find them. You could even store them in your Seven Circles gratitude jar!
This can be your treasure chest of self-love. Access it on a rainy day when it feels harder to recognize how awesome you are, or on a sunny day when the confidence is already boosting so you might as well boost it more. And remember that you are always worthy of love—from those around you, and most importantly, from YOU.
